Yellow Tang
This is probably the most popular of all tang species because they might be the hardiest and their canary yellow color looks great. Like other tangs the Yellow Tang is prone to cryptocaryon (saltwater ich).

The yellow tang requires ample swimming room and plenty of algae to graze on. The tang will not tolerate another of its kind unless there is ample space for each tang to have their own terriotry. The tang requires high oxygen levels.

Herbivore; Yellow tangs are heavy plant eaters. Their constant activity and high metabolism mean that they need to consume a lot of greens to stay healthy.
Has been known to get along fine with, but not limited to, the following : Tridacna, Corals, Anemones, Scallops, Mandarin Goby, Yellow Tang, Sebae & Percula Clown, Anthias, 6-line Wrasse, & Fire Fish, Cleaner & Camelback Shrimps.
I had a Yellow Tang who would consume macro algae, but was not very interested in hair algae (although I have heard of other Yellow Tangs who did). My Tang also seems to leave fairly concentrated green fecal pellets on the tank bottom.
Consider this: yellow tangs can live for at least 35 years in the wild (recently discovered by a Hawaii researcher). According to State collection reports more than 2.
Fish only - totally up to you - could have a genus tank, with fishes of the same genus like yellow tang, sailfin tang in the Zebrasoma genus,
or say a tank of groupers in the Epinephelus genus.
Included in the Zebrasoma family of fish are, amongst others: Z. flavescens (Yellow Tang), Z. scopas (Brown Sailfin Tang), Z. gemmatum Spotted Sailfin Tang), Z. veliferum (Sailfin Tang), Z. xanthurum (Yellow Tail Sailfin or Purple Tang), and so on.
