Demetris was born in Athens in 1957 (always nice to meet someone older than me) and attended the High Public Academy of Merchant Navy.
macracantha, Yo-Yo Loaches - B. lohachata, Skunk Loaches - B. horae, Blue Loaches - B. modesta, and Striated Loaches - B. striata are all seen in the hobby.
The Clown Loach, Yo-Yo Loach, Dwarf Checkered Loach, Skunk Botia and the Bengal Loach are all Botia that may be found in a community tank and will eat snails.
I keep one with 2 platies, 3 schwartz cories, black neon, neon and glowlight tetras, 1 sparkling gourami, 1 yo-yo loach and 1 whip tail catfish.
Mixing large, active nocturnal fish with peaceful, diurnal fish often causes problems. Varies with species, from the ultra-peaceful khuli loach, to the boisterous clown loach, to the semi-aggressive yo-yo loach.
I am yet remembering the scientific names but here is what I have: 3 Black Mollys, 5 Otoclinclus vitatus (pygmy sucker catfish), 1 Clown plecostamus (Pekoltia vitallas ?) and 1 "Yo-yo loach".
