The spiny eel, also called the tire track Eel or the zigzag eel, is similar to the peacock (pictured on the right) and gets along well with their own species or the peacock eel.

The Tiretrack Eel is the largest of the spiny eels available in the hobby. Although they look like eels, they in fact are not.
It is hardy and sometimes falsely sold under the name of Zigzag Eel. Its behavior is standard of spiny eels, burrowing, etc.
