A convex moulding, usually semi-circular. There are a variety of different types of beads. Examples include: angle bead, nosing bead, double bead and so forth. Beak Moulding Moulding shaped into a beak-like form.
Paint applied to a sharp timber arris is particularly vulnerable and it is usual to "ease" the arris by lightly sandpapering before painting. Plaster arrises were usually reinforced by a timber or laterally, a metal angle bead.
