Balcony (from Italian balcone, scaffold; cf. High German balcho, beam, balk), a kind of platform projecting from the wall of a building, supported by columns or console brackets, and enclosed with a balustrade.

Balcony
A platform projecting from an upper story and enclosed by a railing. A balconet is a low, slightly projecting, ornamental railing around the lower portion of a window: a false balcony.

The balcony is balustrade that stretches across the front of the house followed by an arcade porch that hangs over the doorway. The doorway consists of paired, asymmetrical doors lined with molding.

Gallery
A balcony or mezzanine overlooking the main interior space of a building. In a church the gallery is an upper storey directly above the aisle, with arches looking down into the nave.

The main identifying feature of this style is the second-story balcony (cantelievered), and covered by principal roof. Here in Savannah, it seems to have less Spanish influence and more Colonial Revival.
