blind arch: An arch which encloses an opening in a wall which may appear to be a window but which is actually only a shallow indentation in the wall.

Blind arch: An arch applied to a wall; A 'dummy' arch. Block capital: A simple cube-like capital with bottom corners tapered. The block capital is particularly characteristic of Ottonian and Romanesque architecture in Germany and England.

A blind triforium does not contain a passageway and blind arches are placed in front of the wall such as at Amiens. A false triforium has arcades which open to the roof. A pierced triforium contains windows in the outer walls of the passageway.
