Building Paper - A black building paper used to cover roof boards and sheathing to help control moisture and wind infiltration.

 


Building Paper - Heavy-duty paper, usually incorporating a bitumen layer. Was often used as a lining under roof tiles in the 1960's. Tears easily.
Butterfly Roof - 'M' shaped roof usually hidden at the front with a parapet wall.

Breather Membrane - A building paper that is microporous to allow ventilation and the escape of water vapour. It is put on over the outside of heat insulation and under the external cladding of a timber framed wall (or roof).
