Chiseled - A stone shaped by a sharp-edged hand tool.
Chamfer - A beveled edge.
Choir (also quire) - The space reserved for the clergy in the church, usually east of the transept but, in some instances, extending into the nave.

Construction of pyramids first began in quarries where men chiseled granite blocks until they were the exact shape needed. Special rods were used to verify that each block was perfectly shaped.

The steps of the inner pyramid were covered in hand-chiseled limestone taken from the quarries of Aswan farther down the Nile River. The appearance in the day of the Ancient Egyptians was that of a shimmering white mountain.

Because suitable metal fasteners were not available, early post-and-beam frames were held together by mortise-and-tenon joints chiseled out of the ends of the massive structural members.
