dromos Entrance passage or avenue leading to a building, tomb or passageway. Those leading to beehive tombs are enclosed between stone walls and sometimes in-filled between successive uses of the tomb.
Dromos : in architecture, is the name of the entr'acte passage leading down to the beehive tombs in Greece, open to the air and enclosed between stone walls. Drum : a cylindrical wall which supports a dome.
hippodrome(Greek hippos=horse + dromos=course) In ancient Greece, a hippodrome was course for chariot racing. The word was then used by the Romans for a garden space shaped like a racing track but most likely to be used for walking.
