Cusp - the point where the foliations of tracery intersect. The earliest example of a plain cusp is Ely Cathedral, where a small roll, with a rosette at the end, is formed at the termination of a cusp.

The ogee arch was the natural result of the development of tracery in the commencement of the 14th century, and in Gloucester (about 1310) the foliations were run one into the other without the enclosing circles.

A quarterfoil is a design element, as in architecture, with four lobes or leaves, called foliations.
