Foyer - An area just inside the main exterior door for the removal of wraps, overshoes, etc.
Frame - Of wood construction.

Foyer - An entrance hallway within a living unit or building.
Framing - A system of parts put together to support floors, walls, roofs, etc.
Frieze - Any sculpture or richly ornamental band in a building.

fresco A method of painting on fresh plaster with water based paints; the design is then absorbed into the plaster as it dries and becomes a permanent part of the surface.

Narthex The historic term for what might otherwise be called the foyer or entry way of the church.

Dome:
An arched roof or ceiling of even curvature erected on a circular or square base. Domes can be segmented, semicircular, pointed or bulbous. Often decorated with stained or painted glass. Adds light, color and drama to a room or foyer.

Oversized, deeply paneled front doors were skillfully embellished with mesmerizing panes of leaded glass patterns. They also adorned grand Victorian staircases, the foyer, closets, bathrooms, the butler's pantry and every other nook and cranny.
