Geison (Greek: γεá¿-σον - often interchangeable with somewhat broader term Cornice) is an architectural term of relevance particularly to ancient Greek and Roman buildings, as well as archaeological publications of the same.
The triangular recessed space beneath the coping of a pedimant and between the raking cornice of the roof and the horizontal geison below.
