- projecting moulding over an arch or lintel designed to throw off water, also known as dripstones. They could be quite ornate and many estates adopted particular styles for their buildings.

Those of the Norman period generally have little projection, and are sometimes so flat as to be little more than outer dressings and hoodmoulds to the inner door.

It is composed of two massive gables with lancet arch windows, hoodmoulds, kingposts, and decorative vergeboarding. The front entrance rests between these gables.
