Intrados

INTRADOS or SOFFIT). EYELET: a small opening in a traceried window, usually formed between the apex of the arch above and "Y"-forking tracery bars below (cf. OCULUS). FACADE: the face of a building, especially one designed to look grand.

The name reminds of crystal surfaces, which are cut sharply with concave walls similar to inverted pyramids.
