Jack Stud Framing members, generally 2' x 4's, which form the inside of the window or door rough opening. They run from the sole plate to the header, which is supported by them.
Jambs The vertical sides of a window frame.
Jack Stud - A stud adding to the support of roof rafters.
Jamb - The vertical members of a window or door frame.
Jenkins-head Roof - A gabled roof with its apex truncated by a small hipped roof.
