Like many of the earlier multi-storey buildings, the windows are relatively small considering the full surface of the wall, and the ornament, in this case Art Deco, is found accentuating the vertical areas between the windows and on the parapet.

These buildings have the same form of some of the palaces with a multi-storey central block surrounded on all sides by extensive verandas.

Atrium - (plural: atria) inner court of a Roman or C20 house; in a multi-storey building, a toplit covered court rising through all storeys.
Attic - small top storey within a roof. The storey above the main entablature of a classical façade.
