Pantile A curved roof tile which hooks over adjoining tiles, typical in some 1930 s construction.
Parapet Low wall along the edge of a roof or balcony, or extending over the roof slopes above a party or gable wall.

PANTILE A roofing tile with an S-shaped profile, laid so that the down curve of one tile overlaps the up curve of the next one.
PARAPET A low protective wall or railing along the edge of a raised structure such as a roof or balcony.

Pantile
- a roofing tile, traditionally clay, with a pronounced s-shaped section, in which the downturn of one hooks over the upturn of its neighbour - because there is no overlap, a pantiled roof is lighter than a tiled roof.

Pantile - A roofing tile of curved S-shaped section.
Paradise - An open court of atrium surrounded by porticos in front of a church. The garden or cemetery of a monastery, in particular the main cloister cemetery.

When thatch began to be generally replaced by pantiles in the 18th century, and later by slates, the witches' stones were left protruding prominently from the chimney stack.

PANTILE: a tile of S-shaped cross-section. PALLADIAN WINDOW: used here to describe a window with a central round-headed light and a narrower square-headed light at each side. PARAPET: a low protective wall around any place where there is a drop.
