Between about 1965 and 1980 architects and critics began to espouse tendencies resulting in a style that is loosely called postmodern.
Postmodern architecture evolved from the modernist movement, yet contradicts many of the modernist ideas. Combining new ideas with traditional forms, postmodernist buildings may startle, surprise, and even amuse.
A prime example of inspiration for postmodern architecture lies along the Las Vegas Strip.
