Formwork/Shuttering - braced timber or metal into which tempered earth is rammed or concrete is poured, usually for structural purpose, texture of material eg board shape, is often left on concrete.
It can be poured into formwork or shuttering (temporary framing of timber or metal) on site (in-situ concrete) or pre-cast as components before construction. Reinforced: incorporating steel rods to take the tensile force.
NO-FINES CONCRETE - Cast concrete in shuttering with no sand aggregate. NOGGINS - Horizontal timber between studs in timber-framed wall construction. NOSING - Outer top corner of step or sill.
It is also known as shuttering. Foundation - The part of the structure, which is in direct contact with and transmitting loads to the grounds. Frieze - Decorated band either on the upper part of an internal wall or on an entablature.
