- giant staples of split hazel or willow thrust either straight into the thatch to secure it, or alternatively, used to secure liggers.

 


A single large beam, called the main spar, runs through the wing, typically nearer the leading edge at about 25 percent of the total chord.

Type: Cantilever spar cable-stayed. The deck is secured by a single, cabled pylon angled at 58 degrees.
