Since the 1930s, store-fronts on Main Street have been constantly remodeled to promote business.

 


On newer buildings, the "Austin Stone" is often a man-made material manufactured from Portland cement, lightweight natural aggregates, and iron oxide pigments. This imitation stone is often applied as a veneer.
