Anticipation
The ability to predict (or anticipate) foreseeable events is considered important for AC by Igor Aleksander (Aleksander 1995).

 


Anticipation: She expected certain future condition.
Intention: She changed some of her goals' priorities.
Reasoning: She made various kinds of inferences.

The basic idea is that dopamine encodes reward prediction error (but see this opposing argument), such that dips in dopamine reflect overanticipation of reward.
