Domain-specific knowledge

Artificial Intelligence Document classificationDouble hashing

People use domain-specific knowledge and skills to solve problems in different contexts. In general, domain specific skills and knowledge do not generalize across areas.

It allows one to focus on the modeling of problems by providing the opportunity to incorporate domain-specific knowledge as global constraints using a first order language.

In order to solve larger problems, domain-specific knowledge must be added to improve search efficiency. Information about the problem include the nature of states, cost of transforming from one state to another, and characteristics of the goals.

Data warehouses and data preprocessing
Mining complex data types
Graph-based mining
Visualization tools and domain-specific knowledge ...

The alternative to weak methods is to use more powerful, domain-specific knowledge that allows larger reasoning steps and can more easily handle typically occurring cases in narrow areas of expertise.
