Artificial Intelligence Evolutionary roboticsEvolvability

Evolutionary Systems and Artificial Life. Lecture notes from Luis Rocha. "This course presents an overview of the field of Evolutionary Systems and its applied branch of Artificial Life.

In this process, there are two main forces that form the basis of evolutionary systems: Recombination and mutation create the necessary diversity and thereby facilitate novelty, while selection acts as a force increasing quality.

(Plus twenty years of assorted thinking and experimentation with neural nets, evolutionary systems, etc.).

Despite its seemingly exact name of 'Conservation Genetics', this field is made up of all kinds of individual sciences; ecology, mathematics, molecular biology, the study of family trees (evolutionary systematics) to name but a few.

For certainly the programmer may set up an evolutionary system whose limitations are for him unclear and possibly incomprehensible. No better does the mathematician know all the consequences of a proposed set of axioms.
