A Markov random field, Markov network or undirected graphical model is a graphical model in which a set of random variables have a Markov property described by an undirected graph.

Markov random field A set of random variables whose independence relationships are represented by a neighborhood structure, i.e. an undirected graph.

A new chapter on stochastic approaches to machine learning, including first-prder Bayesian networks, variants of hidden Markov models, inference with Markov random fields and loopy belief propagation.
