At the beginning of a game or round, agents have controllers with either random parameters or parameters that have already been chosen by other means. As the game progresses, the parameters of the controllers evolve.
This exercise and animation illustrate the concept of "random parameter". We define the r.v. X by describing the procedure to obtain one realization of X. * Y is a r.v. with the normal distribution N(0, sē). Let m be a realization of Y.
The parameter vector is a specification of the random parameter . Its components are the parameters of the X distribution law.
You can do this by adding a random parameter to the elitist selection scheme. For example, use a tournament selection scheme - which involves comparing random numbers scaled by the magnitide of the fitness.
