Speech synthesis is the artificial production of human speech. A computer system used for this purpose is called a speech synthesizer, and can be implemented in software or hardware.

Speech Synthesis is being able to take words as text and then produce spoken words that humans can recognize. the de facto example is Speak & Spell. that was done by Texas Instruments around 1970.

The same applies to muscles, the same applies to hearing and to voice which is why she just makes this horrible bleating noise because if I was smart I would have given her a speech synthesiser, let someone else take the strain.
