Alcabitius Houses. A house system based on trisection of the semi-arcs by time division. Probably attributable to the 12th century Arabian astrologer, Alchabitus.

Under 'Placidus', the space between the eastern horizon and the Meridian is equally divided, but should the word "horizon" be confused with, or misinterpreted as, "Ascendant," Alcabitius houses are the inevitable geometric result.
