Anomaly: The angular distance of a planet from its perihelion or aphelion.

Some commentators have suggested that this is intentional, with the anomaly of Mars preceding Venus being a device to make the first four movements match the form of a symphony.

Astrologically, Chiron is also an anomaly, defying consensus as to its sign rulership (if any). Since the figure in Sagittarius is a Centaur (which some say is Chiron, himself), it is often assumed to rule that sign.

It is to these powerful philosophical questions that the true meaning of Neptune aims its trident of understanding and offers us a solution to the anomaly of life.
