In western astrology, Rahu is described as the north node of the Moon or Caput Draconis, and Ketu as the south node of the Moon or Cauda Draconis. But as Rahu and Ketu are shorter words, we shall use them throughout this book.

They are alternately known as the "Dragon's Head" (Rahu, Caput Draconis, or Anabibazon) and the "Dragon's Tail" (Ketu, Cauda Draconis, or Catabibazon).

The south node is called the 'Dragon's Tail' (Cauda Draconis) and is malefic, of the nature of Saturn.
