Ceres
Ceres was the first to be discovered in the asteroid belt. It has since been reclassified as a dwarf planet, which would make Ceres at least as important as Pluto in the astrological chart since they are both dwarf planets.
Ceres
Ceres is an asteroid associated with the reproductive issues of an adult woman. Also called the earth mother, it is always involved in a chart when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth, birth control or menstrual cycles.
Ceres, also known as Demeter, is the largest of the main asteroids used in astrology.
Now that Ceres is a considered a planet (albeit a “dwarf'), maybe it will become the ruler of Virgo.

Ceres - Ceres has a strong connection with agriculture and farming. Demeter, the daughter of Gaia was said to have taught man how farm the land.

Ceres is associated with nurturing by Zipporah Dobyns, but with agriculture and the working classes by Barry Lynes. Pallas means creativity for Demetria George, 'prudent intellect' for Emma Donat, but politics for Dobyns.
In 1801 Giuseppe Piazzi discovered the missing "planet", which he named Ceres after the Roman goddess of grain and the patron goddess of Sicily. Ironically, he was not part of this search, and in fact thought he had discovered a comet.
The word cereal is derived from the word Ceres, the name of the pre-Roman goddess of harvest and agriculture. Cereal plants grow in all parts of the world, except very dry deserts and the ice-covered poles.
