Dignified and Debilitated
Planets may be dignified (made stronger) and debilitated (weakened) in a variety of ways. In this article I mainly refer to dignity and debility by signs.

The 12th house lord, malefic, debilitated Saturn (the lord of the house of losses) is placed in the 2nd house (the house of Status) expecting the Sun (significator of the status) by its 10th aspect.

It is neither dignified nor debilitated. It is a planet that seems to be independant of others.

Even a single planet, though he be debilitated, if occupying a good house is retrograde and not combust, it raises high the native's status. Should there be two or three such planets, the native attains a very high rank and position in life.

It is ruled by Mars, and Moon is debilitated here. It is classified as a fixed sign, female by sex, watery by element, and related with the northern direction. It is connected with the generative organs.

A planet that is unfavorably aspected is sometimes loosely characterize as debilitated; also any Sign dessimilar in its nature to the Sign it rules - as Saturn in Pisces.
