Eclipses of the Moon and the Sun were terrifying to ancient peoples. They viewed them with terror, thinking they signified a great calamity about to happen or that the darkness of the celestial light was a punishment from their God.

 


Eclipses bring news of life's big events like the birth of a baby, a marriage, a promotion or career change, travel, striking important deals, sprouting of new ideas.

Eclipse: The obscuring of one celestial body by another.
Solar Outage: Solar outages occur when a satellite dish is looking at a satellite, and the sun passes behind the satellite and within the field of view of the dish antenna.

Solar Eclipse/Galactic Eclipse
There is a remarkably tight alignment of the Solstices on the same place as the center of our Milky Way Galaxy at this time.

A solar eclipse occurs at new moon when the Moon lines up between the Earth and the Sun at one of the nodes. The Moon is much smaller than the Sun yet from Earth it appears to be almost exactly the same size because it is so much closer.

Eclipse periods by astrologers range all over the board. I see some astrologers giving a range of six months until the next eclipse. I don't believe in that kind of long term impact. I think the effects are for the duration of the aspect.

Eclipse in Capricorn
This eclipse occurs at 25°01' of Capricorn, the sign of the Sea Goat, in conjunction with Venus on the day that Mercury turns direct after several weeks of retrograde motion.

Lunar Eclipse
This is a Full Moon that is so precisely aligned that the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow cast by the Sun's light. This typically happens twice a year, about 5-6 months apart.

Lunar Eclipse - this occurs during a Full Moon, when the Sun, Earth and Moon align. An extremely intense time, the effects are felt globally.

Eclipses are very beautiful and dramatic celestial events that are visible from Earth, and have long been regarded as enormously important.

LUNAR/SOLAR ECLIPSES
These happen a few times every year and used to be considered bad omens by the ancients. Actually, they just bring into focus personal issues you need to confront or things which need attention or closure.

There are six eclipses in 2009 (we have four eclipses in the average year) making this a particularly powerful lunar year. The solar eclipse on July 22 2009 will be a total one, and it will be the longest in duration until 2132.
