Ephemeris (Plural: Ephemerides): An almanac that lists the zodiacal positions of the planets and other astronomical data.

Ephemerides. An almanac listing the ephemeral or rapidly changing position which each of the solar system bodies will occupy on each day of the year: their Longitude, Latitude, Declination, and similar astronomical phenomena.

An aside about other ephemerides. If you happen to have another ephemeris and want to use that, some are good and some not so good for timecycle work.

- scan the ephemerides for a period when the main natural significator is strong by its sign position and has good aspects
- look for a day in that period when the Moon is in conjunction, sextile or trine with that planet ...

Calculating your own chart manually requires many reference sources to obtain time-zones, longitude/latitude, table of houses, ephemerides etc as well as mathematical calculations! ...

There were even ephemerides in Sumer. Stones covered with phenomenal numbers of cuneiform lines of figures have been discovered. These appear to be much like our own ephemerides, and used for calculating the positions of sun , moon, cometary activity.
