Exalted and Debliated signs for planets
There are some zodiac signs where some planets are exalted (top position) and debliated (poor form). It is very important to understand this, because future prediction is very much based on this.

Planets are dignified when they are in signs in which they rule or are exalted. They are debilitated when they are in signs opposite these. Any regular beginning text of astrology will list these signs.

Each planet is in Fall in the sign opposite to where it is exalted.
Rulership means a natural affinity of vibration and purpose.
Exaltation is a position where a planet expresses its best and most powerful position.

It was said Virgo's fall was Mercury in Pisces, the idea being the opposite sign is least comfortable, as the exalted would the same sign, Mercury in Venus.
