Grand Cross, Grand Square: An aspect configuration in which four planets, each in a different sign of the same quadruplicity, form mutual squares. Much tension is generated among planets forming this pattern.

The Grand Cross consists of four planets in square (90 degrees) aspect and two oppositions (180 degrees) usually within the same quality. The chart below shows a Grand Cross in the Cardinal quality.

Grand Cross
Aspect configuration. Four planets visually forming a square around the chart. It consists of two pairs of planets in Opposition to each other, and in Square aspect (90 degrees) to the other pair of planets.

Grand Cross, or Grand Square
A combination of planetary aspects that involves all four signs of one particular quality: Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable.

Grand Cross (also know as Grand Square) Planetary configuration between four planets that are made in a native's chart. Two pairs of planets are opposite each other (180 degrees) thus all four planets are squared (90 degrees) to the other.

Grand Fixed Cross. A Grand Square/Grand Cross aspect configuration in which each planet is in one of four of the fixed quadruplicities: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.

Grand Cross (aka Grand Square)
A Grand Cross also called a Grand Square is 4 planets forming a Grand Square in your chart.

This Grand Cross eclipse marks the synchronization of the Saturn/Uranus square and the start of the de-structurization of our commonly accepted base of resource-fullness (subjective valuations of the "props" of physicality).

McCain has a Grand Cross in the "mutable" signs (Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces, Gemini).

Grand Cross : A group of 4 or more planets in a cross shaped pattern, where planets are either directly opposite each other along the zodiac (oppositions) or 90 degrees apart (squares).

The grand cross of last August which preceded the transition to a new millennium, with all its angst-ridden questions and hopeful horizons, reflects the challenge we all face to make individual personal changes more in line with our ideals.

Looking at it a bit closer we notice that the eclipse point is at the latest degree of any of the factors involved in the Grand Cross. The Sun and Moon are also the fastest moving of the factors involved.

And of all four have natal planets you have a Grand Square or Grand Cross. The square is perceive as two energies that interfere one with the other. Thus, you'll find that the expression of one energy will interfere with the expression of the other.

The eclipse creates a stressful Grand Cross, as it is square to disruptive Uranus and over-confident Jupiter, which both oppose your Sun.

After surviving the fixed grand cross eclipse in August 1999, other astrological combinations tend to pale in comparison and seem not so intimidating.
