Grand Cross, Grand Square: An aspect configuration in which four planets, each in a different sign of the same quadruplicity, form mutual squares. Much tension is generated among planets forming this pattern.
Grand Square: Planetary configuration based on the square aspect. It is form when four planets are in consecutive sensitive spots 90 degrees from each other, plus or minus 3 degrees.

Much like the Elements, the qualities of sign form the basis of the character built up from a birthchart. Each Quality consists of two polar opposite pairs of signs and forming between all four of them a GRAND SQUARE aspect.
