Heliacal Rising. Lit., rising with the Sun. When a planet or a star, after it has been hidden by the Sun's rays, becomes again visible.

 


Heliacal rising - "Rising with the Sun" - occurs when a planet or star, which was hidden by the Sun's rays, again becomes visible.
Heliocentric - Measurements based upon the Sun as the central point of reference or observation; Sun-centered.

Heliacal Rising When a planet or star, after previously having been in conjunction with the Sun (and so invisible), emerges from the light so as to be visible on the eastern horizon in the morning before sunrise.

Among these were the Mercury cycle of 92 years, the Venus cycle of 486 years, the heliacal rising of Sirius in September every 162 years, the Metonic 19-year luni-solar cycle of eclipses, ...

Egypt, on the other hand, developed some 300 years after the Babylonians and had a similar process, called "working stars," possibly derived from the Babylonians. These 'working stars' were based on their Heliacal rising at10 day intervals.
