Imum Coeli
The lowest point in the sky (nadir) that a planet can travel relative to the horizon. If you are born at midnight, the Sun would be found around the IC of the chart.

Kite: An aspect configuration where a Planet opposes one of the Planets in a Grand Trine. This opposing Planet can supply the challenge and the channel for the Grand Trine energies.

The IC line is where the force of the planet acts to centre or root individuals - perhaps bringing them into direct engagement with their origins and past.

Nadir or IC
Indicates the cusp of the Fourth House. As the base of operations of the personality this house is quite important, because without a place to stand emotionally, the personality cannot function.

Imum Coeli or IC- this marks the 4th house cusp and is where the ecliptic crosses the meridian in the north. IC means the bottom of the heavens. This represents home, family and ancestry.

Are any planets angular, that is, the Ascendant, Descendant, IC or Midheaven? What natal houses do the transiting planets fall in? What natal planets are being touched, either directly (by conjunction) or by other aspect?

Another example is the Pluto IC line through Florida at the New Moon preceding the 2000 Presidential election, and boy, isn’t that where the proverbial “you know what' hit the fan?

Imum Coeli (or IC) : The point of the zodiac where the ecliptic intersects the lower part of the meridian, a vertical plane that passes directly north and south. Generally the same as the cusp of the 4th house. See also House.

It is quite obvious that Jupiter sits on Glenn's IC as he makes this historic second foray into space.
Flight one in 1962 does not show the IC or any angle accentuated by transit however.
So, what do we find in common?

The cusp, or border, of the 4th House is called the IC (for Imum Coeli, Latin for "lower heavens"), the northernmost point in a birth chart. The IC symbolizes one's roots as it is the very base of the chart itself.

The four cardinal points of the day, Sunrise (AC or Ascendant), Midday (MC or Midheaven), Sunset (DC or Descendant) and Midnight (IC or Lower-Heaven) are indicated by the cusps of the First, Tenth, Seventh, and Fourth Houses. Let's see how.

The Ascendant, Descendant, IC and Midheaven are called the "Angles". In many ways they are like the North, South, East and West. The Ascendant is the most important Angle.

Imum Coeli: From the Latin, literally bottom of the heavens; the zodiacal point opposite the Medium Coeli (Midheaven, MC). The Imum Coeli is one of the angles and forms the fourth house cusp in an unequal house system. Abbreviated IC.
