Sometimes people write me asking for a reading, saying they want to know what their karmic lessons are in this lifetime.

Karma: The end result of the law of cause and effect in relation to the totality of one's actions in one of the successive states of existence, viewed as a preparatory phase for the next state.
Karma, and its Consequences:
The word karma is derived from the Sanskrit root 'kri,' meaning 'to do,' implying that all action is karma. Technically, the term incorporates both an action and its consequence.
Karma comes about through a series of decisions and pronouncements formulated by the personality and taken up by the soul as life tasks.
Dridha Karmas give fixed results because they are so difficult to change that are practically non-changeable. These karmas, pleasurable or painful, are destined to be experienced because of the intensity of their causes.

The Moon's Nodes are virtual points that represent the intersection of the Moon's orbit with the Earth's orbit around the Sun (the ecliptic).
But, an astrologer who does not understand karma might choose to interpret difficult things in your chart as some form of punishment. We humans often make God in our image, forgetting that it's supposed to be the other way around.
It is also considered to be the karma from which one has derived. The South Node is said to represent the abilities and habits brought forward from the previous lifetime.

Karma is associated with Saturn, where the personal planet person feels some sort of personal debt to the Saturn person. The Saturn person seems to have the upper hand in the relationship, at least for a while.

Vedic astrology has comprehensively established the concept of 'karma' and 're-birth'. It is now open knowledge that 'soul' is the essence of a human being and this intelligent consciousness is non-destructible, eternal and alive.
Many people in the astrological world believe in karma. I am not a disbeliever.
Recall that Forrest (2000) declared that the South Node is the summary product of one's karma deriving from all previous lives, and that it signifies the emotional memories of the soul (p. 196).
All worldly relations of one's Jiva with other Jiva and Ajiva are based on Karma.
It describes the situations which the karma of the individual will place them in that lifetime (we are speaking here of ordinary mortals).
The 5th House is the house of destiny, magic,prayer, intelligence, the intelligence we need to confront all our karmas. The 5th House works in direct par with the 11th House.
In terms of human experience, this spine translates into the law of karma. Karma is the law of universal ad-justment - the inherent tension-towards ('ad'-) that which is just and around which the integrity of the universe constitutes itself.

All these problems are the consequence of one's Karmas of the previous birth or current life. A person's Vedic horoscope clearly sketches the problems he has to face. These problems are outlined in the form of planetary afflictions.
