LUNAR NODES Another symbol shown on the Astrodienst charts is that of the north lunar node. This symbol looks like a horseshoe.

The Lunar Nodes (The North and South Nodes)
Lunar Nodes, also called the Moon's Nodes, are the points where the Moon's orbit of the Earth intersects the celestial ecliptic - the narrow band of space described by the Earth's orbit around the Sun.

There are two lunar nodes - the North Node and South Node. These mark the intersection between the Moon's path around the Earth and the Sun's path through the zodiac (from Earth's viewpoint).

Lunar Nodes. The nodes are points in which the orbit of the Moon intersects the ecliptic. The north node is also called the Head of the Dragon or Dragon's Head, and the south node is called the Tail of the Dragon or Dragon's Tail.

Lunar Nodes: Representing the interrelationship of the orbital plane of the moon with that of the Earth, the lunar nodes are widely used and understood by practically all modern astrologers, both in the East and the West.

The Lunar Nodes move through each sign of the Zodiac in a little over eighteen months, so for a Moon Wobble to occur in the same sign and configuration with the Nodes it takes around 19 years.

In his book, Lunar Nodes, Mohan Koparker says that when the destined nodes are making significant aspects, the free will existence is at its minimum.

Matrix, related to the Latin 'womb', should be the operative word here, in light of Draconic's basis in the Lunar Nodes. But this has different meanings for different astrologers.

The lunar nodes are very rich in symbolic meaning andare used extensively in Hindu astrology. The North Node of the Moon has been traditionally called the Dragon's Head, while the southern point is called the Dragon's Tail.

The term DRACONIC comes from the Latin terms for the Lunar Nodes. Caput Draconis, is the dragon's head or Moon's North Node, and Cauda Draconis, the dragon's tail or South Node.

Not all astrologers use the lunar nodes; however, their usage is very important in Vedic astrology. They are alternately known as the "Dragon's Head" (Rahu, Caput Draconis, or Anabibazon) and the "Dragon's Tail" (Ketu, Cauda Draconis, or Catabibazon).

As some wise men say ~ the whole chart can be deciphered just by looking at the placements of the Sun, Moon and the Lunar Nodes.

At the same time, either or both luminaries are within orb of an aspect to the Lunar Nodes. The Eclipse is considered a Solar Eclipse when the Sun and Moon are conjunct otherwise known as a New Moon.
