Local Mean Time: The actual time in a given location based upon the Sun's position at the Midheaven (noon) of the place. Abbreviated LMT; also called True Local Time (TLT).

The local standard time (adjusting for any daylight savings time or war time) is then converted into Greenwich Mean Time or Universal Time at that same instant, which in turn is translated into the sidereal time at Greenwich.

In the Eastern Time Zone clocks are set true to the 75th meridian, 5 hours earlier than Greenwich Mean Time.
In the Central Time Zone time is regulated to the 90th meridian which is 6 hours earlier than Greenwich.

The most comprehensive are calculated for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), but the smaller ones may use Pacific or Eastern Time. Whichever you use, it is easy to convert the time to the zone you are living in.
