Nadir: The point in the celestial sphere directly opposite the zenith; the point directly beneath an observer on Earth; the low point.
Nadir: The nadir is the ecliptic degree most directly below, or, the intersection point of the local meridian with the ecliptic below the horizon.

The Imum Coeli or Nadir The Imum Coeli (IC) or Nadir is opposite the Medium Coeli. This is the lowest point on the horoscope and the point furthest north in the zodiac. The IC is the cusp of the fourth house.
The lowest point in the sky (nadir) that a planet can travel relative to the horizon. If you are born at midnight, the Sun would be found around the IC of the chart. "IC" stands for the Latin Imum Coeli which means "bottom of the heavens.
And a transit of Neptune over his nadir (opposing his Midheaven, or career point) has likely created a great deal of confusion over his role in his personal life and family (nadir) relative to his career and public persona (Midheaven).

The cusp of the fourth house is a special angle called the IC (Immum Coeli) and is also called the nadir.

Mythology
In the Egyptian legend Isis (Jupiter) swathes Osiris (Saturn).

Of all the astronomical variables the ones most clearly visible were the ecliptic (the apparent path the sun traces against the background of the fixed stars as it completes its yearly cycle), and the four angles (sunrise, zenith, sunset and nadir).
