Out-of-sign

Astrology Outer planetsPairing

Out-Of-Sign: Also known as a dissociate aspect; addresses the importance of measuring aspects by degree rather than Sign.

Out-of-Sign - Aspect which, though within orb, is not within the bounds of the aspecting sign.

Out-of-Sign. See "Dissociate Aspect."
Parallel. An aspect between two planets or bodies with the same degree of declination, either north or south of the celestial equator.
Pars. See "Arabic Parts." ...

If they are closely associated but in adjoining signs, the strength of the conjunction is diminished (see "out-of-sign"). ConjunctionWhere the chart factors concerned are within 8° orb of arc, they are "conjunct" or in conjunction.

Although they made only one exact conjunction, they were within orb of conjunction, initially out-of-sign, through the second half of 1940, and continued within orb through the summer of 1942.

They don't have to be, as some aspects are very close, yet out-of-sign. However, the principle of a Grand Trine is that there or 3 (or more) planets trine each other in the same element.

Unless it's an out-of-sign quincunx, the signs not only are of a different element, they are also of a different modality. For example, take Leo-Pisces. Leo is Fixed Fire, while Pisces is Mutable Water.

Corporeal Conjunction - When two planets are conjunct in the same sign. Stronger than an "out-of-sign" conjunction.
