Pars Fortuna
One of many derived points used in Arabic astrology (called Arabic Parts), which are calculated using the positions of certain planets and points (e.g., angles).

Pars Fortunae - The Part of Fortune, one of the most important of the Arabic Parts. The point lies the same distance in longitude from the ascendant as the Moon lies from the Sun.

Partile. An aspect that is almost exact or perfect, usually within one or three degrees of perfect.

Pars Fortuna. The Part of Fortune. One of the Arabian Points
(q.v.).
A point that bears the same relation to the Rising Degree that the Moon bears to the Sun.

PARS FORTUNA /PART OF FORTUNE
A magnetic point as many degrees away from the rising degree of an ascendant as Moon is from Sun for daytime births, counting from Sun in the direction of the signs, and of Sun from Moon for night time births.

Part of Fortune (Pars Fortuna): if the Sun were moved onto the Ascendant and the angle between the Sun and the Moon were left unchanged, the Moon's new position is the Part of Fortune. It denotes success in worldly affairs.

The Part of Fortune (from the Latin Pars Fortuna) is the only Arabian astrology part still commonly used in modern astrology. It indicates an area of life that is a fortunate one for the native.
