Periodical Lunation: Term applied to the transiting Moon's monthly return to the exact position occupied in a natal horoscope. See also lunar period.

 


Periodical Lunation. A Figure cast for the Moon's synodic period, when it returns to the exact degree held at birth. It is often employed for monthly forecasts in a manner similar to the Solar Revolution (q.v.) for annual forecasts.

It is called Periodical Lunation, and is usually performed in 27 days, 7 hours and 41 minutes. A Synod cal Lunation covers the duration from the time Moon quits Sun until it again overtakes it, which occurs in a out 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes.

lunar period : The time it takes the Moon to return to a particular point in the zodiac; the Moon's zodiacal period, a little less than twenty-seven days, eight hours. Also called a sidereal month and periodical lunation.
