Quadrants. The four quarters of the Celestial Figure, representative of the four quarters of the heavens, measured from the cusps of the four angular Houses. The oriental quadrants consist of Houses X to XII inclusive, and IV to VI inclusive.

1st Quadrant - 1st, 2nd and 3rd houses. The first stage of personal development begins though self, possessions and environment.

Regardless of geographic latitude or house system, the two great circles [7] that generate the four angles of the horoscope always divide the entire celestial sphere into four quadrants of equal celestial space.

The quadrants are made of 16 swg (about 1/16 inch) thick brass, phosphor-bronze or nickel silver. Four full size and four half-size quadrants, along with rules and sights, fit on a 12 x 12 inch sheet.

Relating Through The Quadrants
Before we can relate to others, there must be a sense of self to relate from.

By combining horizon and meridian, the chart is divided into four quadrants. The first quadrant is composed of houses 1, 2, and 3, where the subjectivity of the lower hemisphere meets the self-motivation of the east.
