Quadruplicity. The four signs which have the same quality; either cardinal, fixed or mutable. v. Signs.
Quartile. A 90º, or Square aspect. (v. Aspects.)

When Fixed quadruplicity of emotion is emphasized there is a focus on the consolidation of the identity and a rigid preoccupation with self worth and creative prowess. When low or lacking there is an issue with resourcefulness.
QUADRUPLICITY/ QUALITY
A synthetic classification of various attributes of zodiacal signs. It takes into account their (i) motional characteristics, viz., cardinal fixed and common, (ii) basic attributes viz.
Quadruplicity: three groupings of the signs by the category of force they typify (or their seasonal position). They are: Cardinal (dynamic, active), Fixed (latent, stable), and Mutable (harmonizing, flexible).
ModalityQuality, or Quadruplicity. Each sign is characterised by the combination of its Quadruplicity or Quality (Cardinal, Fixed, or Mutable) and its Triplicity, or Element (Fire, Earth, Air, or Water).
Having found at least one sensitive point or specific degree of a quadruplicity, the next task is to ascertain whether this will be the ascendant or Midheaven. Two charts using both settings will highlight two more degrees of the other angle in each.
The effects of comets are first noticeable in those places and enterprises ruled by the sign of their perihelion; after this look for effects in the quadruplicity. For example, Comet Kahoutek made its perihelion in Sagittarius.
Fixed - The signs of the quadruplicity: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.
Fixed Houses - 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th houses.
Fixed Signs-Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. This Quality represents stubbornness and inflexibility.
Some other, very broad minded types, consider any pair of planets in the same triplicity to be in an essential trine, while planets in the same quadruplicity are in natural square, no matter the actual distance apart, no matter the minor aspects.
Solid - The signs of the fixed quadruplicity.
Solistice point - Same as Antiscion.
Solmancy - Divination via the interpretation of the patterns formed by the rays of the sun.
The qualities are also known as the quadruplicities, as there are four signs belonging to each and it is between signs of the same quality or quadruplicity that the hard SQUARE aspect comes from.

Each "corner" of the grand square is a planet square of 90° usually between the same quadruplicity, either cardinal, fixed, or mutable.
The Winter Solstice takes place when the Sun enters Capricorn just prior to Christmas and the night hours are at their maximum. Note that each modality, mode or triplicity has a zodiacal sign from each quadruplicity or element.
