Secondary Directions - The progressed horoscope, based on the "day for a year" system of progressing the nativity first employed by the ancient Arabian astrologers.
Secondary directions are formed by the progression of the Moon to aspects with the planets, particularly the radical.
It is deemed to actuate, within 14 days, any Secondary Directions that are of the same nature, and to nullify those of an opposite nature. Falling upon the places of the Benefics, it produces good; upon the Malefics, evil.
Also known as Secondary Directions. The number of days in the ephemeris are counted from the birthday as the number of years the native has been on this mortal coil, then the horoscope is calculated accordingly.
Green's explanation of secondary directions has one serious flaw: he did not know how to direct the angles properly. In King Edward VII's horoscope this led to an error of 14° in the progressed ascendant for his 59th birthday.
