Sidereal Time
Science / Astrology / Sidereal Time
Sidereal Time: Time measured in relation to fixed stars, as distinguished from clock time, based upon the Sun's position relative to Earth.

Sidereal Time Time in relations to the fixed stars, rather than clock time.
Sidereal Zodiac A Zodiac based on the placement of the stars, not the Vernal Equinox. It is used in Eastern, Hindu, or Vedic Astrology.

Sidereal Time. A method of time-reckoning based upon the period elapsing between two successive passages of some particular star, taken as a fixed celestial point, over a given point on the circumference of the Earth.

Sidereal time: time reckoned by the stars. This is a time system based on the true period of the earth's rotation on its axis. At any moment the sidereal time is different for two meridians, but is unaffected by the latitude.

Sidereal Time. The axial rotation of the earth measured by a stellar fiducial, usually a fixed star.

sidereal time Time measured in relation to fixed stars, as distinguished from clock time, based upon the Sun's position relative to Earth. Astrological time data is listed in sidereal time units.

Sidereal time is easily found on an astrolabe. Local sidereal time is the hour angle of the vernal equinox at Aries 0° (the so-called, "First Point of Aries").

sidereal time : Time measured in relation to the fixed stars. Astrological time data is listed in sidereal time units.

Sidereal time means time deter-mined by or from the stars. It is time determined in relation with the passage of Sun across the meridian: at mean noon, 12 o'clock local mean time (LMT) on any day, ...

Sidereal Time.
That in which the point of reference is a star - as the most nearly fixed point in the universe as it appears from the Earth.

Sidereal Time at birthplace at the birth hour:
29 04 23
Subtract the circle of 24 hours: ...

Thus the Local Sidereal Time must be 18hrs 16mins 56secs, giving a Midheaven of 3°53' Capricorn.

HOW TO CALCULATE SIDEREAL TIME - required for additional calculations
1. Convert local birth time to 24 hr clock.
for example 5:14 am = 05:14
7:26 pm = 19:26 ...

Sidereal TimeRight ascension of the meridien at mean noon (or midnight in modern ephemerides). The angular distance of the first point of Aries, or the true vernal equinox quoted in hours, minutes and seconds.

The local standard time (adjusting for any daylight savings time or war time) is then converted into Greenwich Mean Time or Universal Time at that same instant, which in turn is translated into the sidereal time at Greenwich.

practical result of this is that when one of these planes is directly above us by Meridian transit, the other plane is roughly on the East Point or what is sometimes called the Equatorial Ascendant (a point 90 degrees from the RAMC or Sidereal Time.) ...

Early Chaldean observations were made without the aid of our modern astrological trappings such as references to Sidereal time or Greenwich Mean Time. Their initial starting time was Local Solar Time, or more likely, from sunset to sunset.

A birth chart contains birth data such as Name, Date of birth, Place of Birth, Time of Birth and Latitude and longitude of the place of birth, GMT, LMT, Sunrise local, Sunset local, Birth time in Ghatikas, Sidereal time, Birth Star and pada, ...

Against the Date 01, the weekday is Monday. The sidereal time is GMT.
Sun is at 10deg 09m Capricorn.
Moon is at 02deg 25m Capricorn.

Then, you'll need to convert the time to Greenwich time, followed by making the adjustment to Sidereal time. Sidereal simply means "star" and the Sidereal day, based on the stars, is four minutes shorter than a day based on the Sun.

Right ascension - Measurement along the celestial equator eastward from 0° Aries that describes planetary positions in terms of degrees, minutes and seconds, not zodiacal signs. Sidereal time expressed in unit of arc.

Zodiac Constellation : Using sidereal time the zodiac is aligned to thirteen constellations.
Zodiac Lunar : Using moon cycles the zodiac is aligned to thirteen lunar months.

SIDEREAL TIME: Time reckoned by the stars rather than by the Sun.
SOLSTICE: When the Sun reaches its maximum declination. This occurs twice a year, at the beginning of Summer and Winter.
